This year’s Summer Fun Photography Contest was a great success. Thank you to Mr. Photo and Bahamas Local for your sponsorship, to our prize donors, and to The Tribune for running a lovely article with photos this past Friday. For a complete list of winners and prize donors, please see our website.
There is still much more to come this year!
This Sunday, October 4th, at 4 p.m. you and your pet are welcome to join us at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church in Lyford Cay for the Blessing of the Animals to celebrate St. Francis of Assisi Day and World Animal Day. Animals of all types are welcome!
Looking for a fun, safe way to celebrate Halloween? Why not plan to attend Yelloween at Balmoral on Thursday, October 29th, 8 p.m. to midnight? This event is generously hosted by Balmoral and Commonwealth Brewery and will aid the BHS. Tickets are $125 and may be purchased from the BHS or the event organizers – 302-4230/302-4231. Costumes are encouraged and a portion of each ticket price will be donated to the BHS. Please see their event page for more details.
Saturday, November 7th will see the BHS with a table at the Tru-Tru Bahamian Festival. This first-time event is hosted by the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association and will be held at John Watling’s Distillery on Delancy Street. 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, November 21st & Sunday, November 22nd, you will find us at the annual Christmas Jollification at the Retreat on Village Road. This event kicks off the Christmas season and is a great place to purchase gifts for the pets and pet-lovers in your life. There is also a BNT members’ evening on Friday the 20th.
We are seeking volunteers! For the Nov 7th event and the Jollification days.
We are also looking for people who are able to offer 3 – 4 hours one day a week for the next three months (or more!) to help out at the Thrift Shop. If this is you, please contact me!
Stay tuned for more to come. We hope to see you this Sunday!
