About Us
Established in 1924, the Bahamas Humane Society addresses head-on the problem of stray animals and many other concerns.
It is affiliated with numerous international animal welfare agencies, including Humane Society International, and it is the only organization in the Caribbean to hold membership in the Standards of Excellence Program sponsored by the American Humane Association, which it has belonged to since 1981.
Though it is based in Nassau, Paradise Island, it works with sister organizations on other islands. It is the oldest charity in the Bahamas.

Good evening,
I had a cat that I adopted from there for 17.5 years.
She was named chloe, you will see her in your files.
To my heartbreak she was put to rest at your facility two years ago. Missing her still, she was absolutely the best!!
I want to adopt, i am very busy, live in a condo, looking for a cat that loves attention, doesn’t mind resting in the day until i get home.

Very young kittens, though wonderful,I fear will need me to be home more, I work alot but call my own hours.
After having Chloe for 17.5 years adopted from you and then brought back at the end of her longlife, I suppose that is an automatic approval,

one time on facebook I was able to look at kittens and cats for adoption, how do I do that?
I want a Kitten
I wish to adopt a kitten, what do i need in order to do it??
Please come down to our Shelter in Chippingham, fill out an adpotion form and you will be given an interview and shown the kittens that are available to be adopted. The fee is $25, this covers the first vacine and deworming, we neuter all of the adopted animals free of charge.
O my gosh I love cats i would love to adopt 2 but my better half is afraid of cats LOL. I was begging him to adopt a cat for tow years now and he haven’t made up his mind yet aug so buged
hopefully we will get them soon before their all gone.
